Columbus Cares

In the relatively short time the mill has been in operation, the people of the Columbus Division have established an outstanding tradition of giving back to the community. Over the last few years, Columbus has donated approximately $100,000 to Palmer Home for Children. Palmer has used the money to establish a state-of-the-art computer lab for the kids. Employees also sponsor parties - at Christmas and other times - for Palmer residents and donate gifts and money.

In other community-minded efforts, the people of the Columbus Division have spearheaded a food and supply drive for the Columbus-Lowndes Humane Society, participated in the local Mississippi Walk for Diabetes, and raised money for the United Way. During a retreat in 2014, a group of women from Columbus participated in a Habitat for Humanity home-building project.
