The Engineered Bar Products Division produces special-bar quality (SBQ) bars. Typically they are of high-strength carbon or alloy steel that is custom-formulated to meet specific customer design criteria. Engineered bars are sometimes referred to as “specialty bars.” In 2014, our smaller diameter rolling mill expansion was fully comissioned. The completion of the expansion increased the mill's capacity to produce an additional 325,000 tons, while also expanding the mill's product offering into high-quality small diameter (1-inch to 3-inch) precision SBQ bars.
These are most frequently used to make parts for rotating machinery applications. We produce standard lengths and a wide range of grades of high-quality round bars having diameters from 1 inch to 9 inches.
Round corner squares (RCS)
These are mainly used in forging steel parts. Round cornered squares are available in dimensions ranging from 2 to 9 inches and are available in standard lengths.
We produce No. 4 to No. 18 rebar. These are typically custom-formulated for specific applications.
Finished bars and testing services
Bar finishing services include straightening, turning, and polishing of round bars, plus precision saw-cutting, heat treating, demagging, non-destructive eddy current and roto-bar testing.
