As a Pyrometry Supervisor at Aluminum Dynamics, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy, precision, and compliance of our state-of-the-art heat treatment processes. Your responsibility will encompass monitoring, calibrating, and maintaining temperature measuring instruments critical to our operations. Your expertise will directly impact the quality and reliability of the products we deliver to our customers. Job Duties & Responsibilities:
• Conduct regular calibration surveys and validation of temperature measuring instruments to meet industry standards and regulatory requirements on batch and continuous furnaces.
• Collaborate closely with engineering and production teams to optimize heat treatment processes for efficiency and quality.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any issues with pyrometry equipment; make recommendations for improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
• Work with suppliers and manage pyrometry equipment procurement and calibration.
• Work with suppliers and manager thermocouple site inventories.
• Stay informed about industry advancements and best practices in pyrometry; implement new techniques and technologies as appropriate.
• Maintain detailed documentation of pyrometry activities, calibration records, and adjustments made to heat treatment processes.
• Support quality assurance documentation requirements for furnace surveys and participate in audits as needed.
• Work in compliance with combustion safety protocols to create a secure work environment for all team members.
Preferred:
• High School diploma or equivalent level of education (minimum)
• Previous experience in pyrometry within an industrial setting, ideally in thermal maintenance.
• Comprehensive understanding of temperature measuring instruments, calibration procedures, and industry standards such as AMS2750 and CQI-9.
• Understanding of combustion safety, burner check, NFPA-86 and NFPA- 6.
• Analytical mindset with attention to detail to interpret data accurately and identify deviations from expected parameters.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-based environment.
• Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Commitment to safety protocols and maintaining a safe work environment for all employees. A documented track record of successful project implementation, good communication skills, and understanding matrix organization complexity
